WORKSHOPS and TUITION for 2024
Workshops are tailored to suit all abilities. Working with small groups of 5 students only to ensure personal tuition with each student. Workshops begin at 9.30 and finish at 3.45pm.A 2 course lunch is provided to help make for a really enjoyable arty day out.Refreshments are available throughout the day.
Workshops cover a wide variety of subjects and are very relaxed and informal. After an introduction over tea & coffee a short pastel demo will be followed by your own practical work. Catherine is on hand to guide and advise you.

These are held at Catherine’s studio in the little village of Skirpenbeck near York .
Group Bookings
Groups of up to 5 may book a private workshop with their chosen subject on a date to suit .

Private Tuition
Private tuition is available on a one to one or two to one basis for students wishing for more intensive tuition in pastel. A minimum of 2 hours to a full day . Please feel free to contact for more details.

Fur & hair can be tricky so this too will be covered.

Designed to feature the elements of portraiture. With the human face it is important to
construct the eye, mouth & nose correctly. The eyes & mouth being the most expressive.
We will cover skin tones too.

Working from a field sketch or photo image of your choice you will be given lots of information

Still in a Springtime theme.
Always so popular, our native Brown Hare, so get to grips with how to layer the fur and work amazing eyes to create one of our most loved native wildlife creatures. Though the workshop is of a 'Hare' theme you may wish to create a wildlife animal of your choice other than a hare.

Snow covered trees and frosty leaves - my students sometimes find this a little problematic, so time to make it less so. Demo to start, just a short one to demonstrate techniques. including mark making and choice colours.
